my small thing for the day

In an effort to become a better blogger, I've decided to try and write down more of my "small things". Today I've had a few small things, but one thing that has made today especially great was a renewed hope for student teaching. If you know me at all you probably know I've been some what begrudgingly moving forward towards student teaching. However, today I went to Target and it changed everything. I walked in and went to the dollar section as usual, and there I found an assortment of teacher supplies. There were folders and files and dry erase markers, stickers and stamps and little star decorated buckets, trays, and flashcards, and erasers. These things were a reminder. They were a reminder of how excited a child gets when they get an A+ sticker. They were a reminder of how children find joy in things like erasers and pencil grippers. They were a reminder of how I find joy in those things, and most importantly how I find joy in those children. It may be a small thing, but it's something to be thankful for indeed.
