Weekend play by play

You know sometimes, my dear friends, I tell you about major events, or simply major thoughts I've been having. Or because you know me I can also turn rather inconsequential events into major things. That's just called being dramatic. I have wanted to blog a bit more this year, so maybe I will try a little harder to blog more often. And just to tell you what I'm up to, because sometimes that's fun. I mean, I don't know if you'll read it, but I like to write anyways.

This weekend was a great one. I mean, I seldom want weekends to end, and this one is no exception. I started the weekend off a bit rocky with what my doctor likes to call the "revenge of the baleadas". I came home early on friday and then slept for a few hours. I then got up in time to eat some soup and play some games. Since you all already know how much I love games, you know it wasn't that hard for me to get up for such things. Then I finished the evening off by playing some wonderful video games at my friend Mark's house. We enjoyed a very pleasant time playing all the great wii games like wii party and mario kart and jeopardy. However we did not play "hide the wii remote" as the supposed really fun game is called. I told Mark that it sounded way too much like a game my brother would make up just to torture me.

I also had the privilege of traveling to Valle de Angeles with my housemates and friend Kristi. Although we had a bit more rain than we wished for and the electricity went out for a while, we still found plenty of time to walk around shops, eat, and relax. We even spent a little bit of time luxuriously sunning ourselves by the pool. I know you're jealous. After coming back and resting and working some more, I spent the evening on Sunday with Lindsay jamming out to some worship tunes on my guitar. We were practicing but that time of worship and prayer together was just what I needed after feeling somewhat discouraged.

The Lord is faithful and I truly felt new waking up this morning for a new day. I got to spend some great time with Him. And He's cool.. that's really just the truth. God never ceases to surprise or amaze me with how He works. I treasured the extra time to read and journal and sing this morning. The Lord even amazed me by filling me with a song this morning... I may have to share it with you later. I mean I wrote it down, but I truly feel that he was writing it for me. Is that cool or what?

After some banana chocolate chip pancakes with my house and our maid, (whom I have apparently served, pumpkin and apple cinnamon pancakes to as well) we worked a bit longer. Then it was off to frisbee land. Today was a triumphant day for the frisbee players. Although we lost our first game, the Pizza Shooters made our best effort. We moved downstairs to a different field once basketball practice started and the Stormtroopers were victorious for two rounds. I rather enjoyed the friendly game of running and maybe a little bit of trash talking... ok maybe a little too much trash talking on my part. Finish the day off with a good meal with great friends, I'd say this weekend went pretty well.

Now did you really want a play by play of my weekend? I don't know... but I kind of liked writing it. This is just a glimpse into my weekend life. We'll see what school world brings tomorrow. Who knows maybe you'll get a few more of my deeper thoughts too. Even in the fun and relaxation, I know that all these things point me to this: I serve a great God who has infinitely blessed me. Amen? Amen.
