Random Facts
So, I changed the format of my blog and I'm hoping it's not too confusing for you. It just took me five minutes to figure out how to log in and write a new post. ha. I guess that's what I get.
So a few random things I want to share:
1. My students are in art right now, so I'm working on my computer while someone else is teaching. One of them came up to me and said in the middle of class,
"Miss do you know how to play checkers?" "Yes?" "I don't know how." "Ok." "I want to know how." "Well, if you bring in some checkers some time, I can teach you at recess. But why are you asking me this right now?" "I don't know. I just really want to play checkers." Random.
2. One of my favorite things that my students do is go "ssssss". This has a variety of meanings. It can be a "ooh burn." It can be a "oooh, you like him". It can be "awesome". It's a wonderful multi-purpose noise. Generally, in my class it is used whenever I talk to or anything is said of Mr. Cooper, one of the other teachers. My students are convinced that all 3 female north American teachers are in love with him.
3. We had a long weekend last weekend and another one this weekend. No Mondays. I guess the president declared some more national holidays. I don't even know what they are, but I like celebrating them. Although, honestly I can't remember the last time I had a normal week of school and I'm kind of looking forward to it.
4. Rainy season is in full swing. It is actually a little bit cool and I hardly ever get to see the sun. Today though the sun is out, making for a great day. =) While things are fine for us, in the southern parts of Honduras there has been some severe flooding. The US embassy keeps telling me that I need to tell my friends and family of my whereabouts because of "flooding". So I'm telling you. But don't worry, the only thing that floods is my classroom every time it rains. So that would be everyday. Good times.
Ok I think that's all, at least for today!
Con amor,
Jennifer
