...and we're off!
So, I happen to have some time to waste at the airport, and some free wireless, so thus I thought I would document the beginning of my journey. My mom and dad dropped me off this morning, well and stayed with me for a while. Then I got to go through security, where they stopped because I had a rock in my bag. =) A painted one that was given to me as a gift... I'm way too sentimental. thankfully, they laughed at me and let me keep. I would.
Actually, I already learned a lesson today. I brought my very large and a little overweight baggage to the check out counter. The rule is that it must be under 50 pounds. One of them was 51, the other 54. As we talked to the checkout man, I realized that I had in a sense this thought that if it was only A LITTLE over they should just give it to me, afterall it is a good cause. Well they did give me one suitcase and we shifted around a few things in the other. This got me thinking, how often do we think we're entitled to grace? Or think that we should be okay because we're only fudging the rule a little. In all reality, according to the website and guidelines I should have been charged 150 extra dollars for being overweight, whether it was by 1 pound or up to 20. We all deserve to be punished for falling short of the glory of God. But God chose to give us a grace and all we have to do is ask for it. Amazing.
Well, I'm getting ready to leave in about 30 minutes! So I will officially be En Route. I am so excited to see everything!
Hasta Luego!
